It's reported that the US scrap exports prices have surged recently, driven by increased scrap prices in the US domestic market.
At present, the export quotes of the US vessel HMS 80:20 (1&2) to Taiwan are at US$365/ton CFR, rising by US$5/ton from a week ago, according to traders.
In July, the prices of steel flat products have increased by US$22~US$33/ton in the US domestic market, boosting the scrap prices to rise.
However, the high prices are unfavorable to the Taiwanese steel mills. It's said that the Taiwanese buyers have turned to purchase scraps from Japan.
